Our client, a public sector security outfit, challenged us to recruit a Human Resources Director (HRD) capable of responding to the organisation’s major change programme. The successful hire would own the businesses’ entire people dimension, focusing on new ways of working and leading significant improvement across the HR function. The role would be based in Bristol and offer comparatively less remuneration than similar roles in the private sector, posing a unique sales challenge for our recruitment team.
To tackle the challenges faced by our client, our approach emphasised the professional opportunities and profile of the post. By obtaining a deep understanding of the role, we drew candidates attention to the career-defining prospects they would enjoy.
We received 67 strong applications in total and shortlisted four individuals who were considered ‘above the line’. Of these individuals our client selected a high performing Human Resources Director to lead their programme of change.
